Why hot yoga?
Heat puts the muscles and joints at their optimum temperature, resulting in less chance of injury. It also allows you to press further into the pose, resulting in deeper stretching, and it also makes it more comfortable to perform poses. As you sweat your body detoxifies and your lymphatic system improves. Heat also increases your heart rate, making your body work harder and resulting in a more intense and cardiovascular workout.
Our heated classes are heated to 32 degrees with far infrared heating (FIR). FIR creates a comfortable heat with many health and healing benefits.
First class jitters
Once welcomed by our friendly team, you can either hang out for a chat with us or relax on a mat of your choosing. Please leave personal belongings in the spaces provided in reception.
There are 2 very important things you need to know:
- Listen to your body and take rest at any time needed. Props are available to use during class to assist you in the poses. Don’t be afraid to use them and don’t be afraid to ask.
- Our studio an ego free and comparison free zone! We are all there for the same reason and we are all supported and encouraged no matter where we are on our yoga journey.
After your first class you will experience some degree of muscle fatigue or soreness – you would have used muscles that had been left sleeping! This fatigue or soreness should be dull – not sharp or sudden pain and should resolve within 48 hours. If you have any concerns, please talk to your doctor.
What do I bring?
Just yourself, some enthusiasm, a towel and a water bottle. Mats and props are supplied and we have a double filtered tap for refill your drink bottle. Hot yoga towels can also be purchased at the studio.
What do I wear?
Just be comfortable, making sure your clothing does not restrict your movement. You don’t need to spend big bucks on a pair of tights before coming to our studio.
Singlets, shorts and tights are popular options. Please do not wear socks as you may loose your footing.
What does it cost?
Please see our pricing structure here.
Gift certificates are the perfect gift for a yoga lover or a new yogi, and can be purchased from the studio or by contacting us.
Can I eat before class?
Yoga should be practiced on an empty stomach as food in your stomach may cause some of the postures to become uncomfortable. Generally speaking three hours should pass before practising after a main meal, and about one hour after a snack. If you feel you need to eat prior to practice please chose something light such as a piece of fruit.
How much water should I drink?
Always come to class well hydrated. Please make sure you drink plenty of water both before and after class and sip during class when necessary. This is especially important during heated classes.
Where can I park?
Plenty of on-street parking is available around the studio. Please take note of time restrictions where applicable, however there is ample parking with unlimited or 2 hour parking limits.
Please respect our neighbours and do not park in local business car parks or across the driveway that leads to our entrance. The studio is also located in a residential area so please also be mindful of noise when entering and leaving the studio.VIEW PARKING MAP
